Holy Forest is the brainchild of musician and filmmaker Jon Fine who enlisted friends and collaborators to play on a genre-blending album recorded in NY and The Gambia, West Africa. The album, hailed by BBC 6 DJ Gilles Peterson as “a brilliant LP”, was selected by Public Radio International as one of the best World Music albums of 2015 and landed on Bandcamp’s Best Independent Release’s of 2015. The live Holy Forest band features Kora player and griot Salieu Suso, soul singer Ed “Preachermann” Holley alongside Jon Fine and veterans of NYC funk band ULU.

Manny’s Boogaloo Crew
“Manny’s Boogaloo Crew” is a LATIN FUNK Band Lead by Eusebio ‘MANNY’ Montanez. Manny is al Rumbero, born in west Harlem & raised in the Bronx. Growing up a few blocks from the Apollo Theater, then later cutting his teeth on the (Rumba) jam sessions in the Bronx, just around the corner from the Hunt’s Point Palace. Manny’s experiences reflect the music that captivated New York during the 60’s & 70’s. The Band lays down cool Afro-cuban Rumba, laced with Funky R&B sounds, pushed by the Latin mellow of the Boogaloo groove.
