Barbara Martinez grew up performing in New York City. Originally from Venezuela, she comes from a lineage of Argentinian singers, including Libertad Lamarque. Barbara sings an eclectic repertoire of flamenco, Latin and world music with her own group, performing early on in its inception for a sold out house at Carnegie Hall/Weill. She sings with A Palo Seco Flamenco Company, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana and Pasión y Arte, among other grouos. She recently appeared in the documentary “Sobre Las Olas – A Story of Flamenco in the U.S.” by Carolina Loyola-Garcia nd also in the exhibit “100 Years of Flamenco in New York” at the NY Performing Arts Library. Bárbara performs regularly both as singer and dancer in local venues in New York City.
